Rocky Gap Retreat

The retreat came at just the right time. Lately, I have been feeling unmotivated and wondering if the degree is worth the mental anguish and turmoil that come with being a graduate student. The weekend provided me with the chance to reconnect with nature, build up my support network, and remind myself that I am not alone. I enjoyed meeting everyone from all of the different countries (Ghana, Kenya, China, Vietnam, Italy, Nigeria, India, etc.), we are such a diverse group and it was great to experience so many different cultures. The Kung Fu Tigers were also great! We had lots of fun building our shelter and making food. The Taboo playing and campfire was especially memorable. Many thanks to the wonderful PROMISE staff for organizing this event! I feel renewed and ready to push through the semester. I also know that when times get tough I can turn to the PROMISE family so that I can get the push that I need to keep moving. Thanks again!
