As I said in the reflections period, I was surprised by how many UMBC graduate students I met this past weekend who I have never seen before. I was really glad to meet so people because I don't normally see very many graduate students. I think social support and a community of graduate students is very important to encourage people to finish graduate school and to maintain your motivation. This weekend helped me in this way.
